| 1. First we do some exercises by hand. 2. To acquaint ourselves with the Fractal Music Composer, we begin by using Phrase One from the hand exercises. Here is the exercise. 3. Here is a composition using Phrase Two from the hand exercises along with its two scalings. The Shift transformation is used to diatonically transpose the phrases up a third for the first eight measures, and then back down a third. This transpostion pattern is then repeated.
